takara nipaluna has got a new logo!
Our logo features a skyline of kunanyi/Mount Wellington – one of the main features of nipaluna/Hobart. The mountain overlooks the city and with the timtumili minanya/Derwent River these natural features border our city.
We love the footsteps in our logo – these signify our walking tour but also mark the steps we take in nipaluna everyday as we follow in the footsteps of our old people on this land.
The background surrounding the bright landscape evokes ochre – a culturally significant natural pigment used by first nations people all across so called Australia.
We worked with Rob Braslin – a local Aboriginal artist. Rob does all things from acting, directing, writing and stand-up comedy – and now he has expanded to digital art and design. He has a new space where you can check out his latest work and get in contact about future commission and projects.
